How do the test strips work?
Dip a strip in a glass of your water for about 2 seconds, lay it flat, then wait 15–60 seconds depending on the strip (the bacteria test takes 48 hours), then match each colored pad to the chart printed on the bottle. See the Instructions page for the exact timing of each strip.

How many tests are in one kit?
120 test strips plus 2 bacteria tests, so roughly a two-year supply for a monthly testing routine.
Can I test well water?
Yes. It's ideal for private wells, which aren't regulated. We recommend testing every season.

What does the pool kit measure?
7 parameters in one dip: free and total chlorine, bromine, pH, total alkalinity, hardness and cyanuric acid.
How often should I test my pool?
Two to three times a week during swim season, and after heavy rain or heavy use.
Accuracy & results
How accurate are the strips?
They're calibrated to US EPA reference ranges. For fast at-home screening they're highly reliable; for legal or medical decisions, confirm a flagged result with a certified lab.
My pad color is between two shades — what do I do?
Read it in natural daylight and pick the closest match. If it's borderline on a safety parameter like lead or nitrate, re-test in a week and consider a lab test.
